Web Report on Indic Languages for Notice & Consent

  • Scoped the project and mapped ethical vs unethical consent/notice practices from existing industry artefacts while working with journalists and policy makers
     

  • Simplified technical language and built a glossary to improve comprehension for non-English users.
     

  • Conducted user testing with 60+ participants (from tier 2 & 3 regions), combining qualitative interviews and quantitative data analysis.

  1. Low internet literacy, text-heavy documents, unfamiliar technical terms, non-native punctuation, and language ambiguities caused users to misinterpret content and relate it incorrectly to familiar real world concepts.

Combined user-testing data (qualitative + quantitative) to iterate and refine design and language choices.

  • Implemented research methods and collaborated with the senior researcher on data analysis for interviews in 2 & 3 towns.

Created a rapid note-taking method merging qualitative and quantitative processes and built a scoring system for quantitative data across 60 user tests.

Solving Design Problems in script:

  • Created a type-spec table to support smooth transitions from English to Hindi.

  • Standardised spellings, icons, and illustrations across artefacts.

  • Avoided vowel signs and composite letters to prevent inconsistencies across font styles.
